I did open the DM780 tab and see the waterfall with several traces, but they read out as gibberish, like a stuck key on a keyboard. Still have the same error message, Failed to read frequency.
And an RTS-03 USB to Serial adapter, since my netbook does not have a serial port. I think there's a problem with my 7000 because I can't do rig control anymore but it's still usable. You'll still be able to operate with it but you won't have your log auto-populated with band, freq, mode, etc. To control the radio you need a separate CI-V interface. The Signalink is only an audio and PTT interface.
